AGCO introduces Massey Ferguson 1800M and 2800M Series compact tractors

AGCO Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, announces a new family of premium compact tractors – the Massey Ferguson 1800M and 2800M Series, with five models ranging from 35 to 60 engine horsepower. These new four-wheel drive tractors build on Massey Ferguson’s reputation for nimble, versatile and reliable performance with new, advanced Iseki engines, styling and design updates, as well as comfort and convenience enhancements. The new 1800M and 2800M Series replace the 1700M Series compact tractors and are offered in both factory-installed cab and open-station ROPS models.

Featuring 1.83-liter, three-cylinder Iseki diesel engines, the 1800M Series tractors are available in two models with 36.2 or 39.4 engine horsepower. The 2800M Series offers three 2.43-liter, four-cylinder Iseki-powered models, from 48.8 to 60.3 engine horsepower. These engines are turbocharged for responsive power, liquid-cooled for increased durability and standard-equipped with glow plugs for fast, reliable starting in frigid temperatures. Clean-burning Iseki engines meet Tier IV emission standards and can be found in specialized equipment used worldwide in a broad range of demanding ag, turf and commercial applications.

The new M Series compact tractors also benefit from a fresh design with an updated hood, headlights and new decals, reflecting the look of larger Massey Ferguson utility and row-crop tractors. Operators can still count on solid metal hoods and fenders, which are stronger and less susceptible to damage than plastic hoods found on other compact tractors.

Choice of rugged gear or smooth hydrostatic transmissions

The M Series premium compacts are standard-equipped with the popular 12X12 power shuttle-shift transmission. This rugged mechanical-gear transmission provides a broad range of working and transport speeds. It’s ideal for jobs such as mowing or rotary tilling, where consistent working speeds must be maintained. And, with the forward/reverse shuttle shift, no clutching is required. Located conveniently on the steering column, the power shuttle control lever provides smooth, easy direction changes – ideal for loader work.

An optional three-range hydrostatic transmission is also available. Simple, intuitive and easy to operate, it allows the operator to reach the speed needed for the job within each range without shifting gears. Dual foot-pedal controls make for quick and easy forward/reverse direction changes. Cruise control allows operators to set and maintain their preferred working or transport speed.

M Series compact tractors have a limited, five-year powertrain warranty. Full details are available from Massey Ferguson dealers. To learn about Massey Ferguson and the 1800M and 2800M Series compact tractors, or to locate the dealer nearest you, visit their website.

Fliegl’s KDS 270 Muck Control now DLG approved

In addition to liquid manure, many farmers also use solid manure for organic fertilization. Fliegl has therefore expanded its spreading technology product portfolio to include chain manure spreaders. The first model type could already be seen at Agritechnica 2019. Since then, there has been a lot of tinkering, development and testing so that the KDS spreader, from small to large, is now ready for organic nutrient transfer. A DLG test of the KDS 270 Muck Control Tandem proves its ability in black and white.

The Fliegl KDS 270 Muck Control is a universal spreader with a scraper floor and a horizontal two-disc spreader. The loading space of the KDS 270 – with a height of 1.4 meters, a width of 2.15 meters and a length of 7 meters – has an enormous capacity of around 21 cubic meters. The load compartment with side walls and floor made of fine-grain steel sits on a tandem chassis consisting of a hollow beam frame. Both materials are extremely stable, yet light. The mechanical suspension of the axles, as well as the hydraulically sprung drawbar with pivotable drawbar, ensure a high level of driving comfort and practicality.

In order to be able to fulfill the wishes of all customers, Fliegl now offers with its KDS not only tried and tested push-off technology but also a scraper floor as the feeding technology. It consists of two chains with 140 chain links each. Each individual chain link has a breaking load of 50 tons. The chains connect 41 continuously closed scraper floor strips. The scraper floor is driven hydraulically via a side gear, and the speed can be continuously adjusted. If chains lose their tension over time, a mechanical or optional hydraulic chain tensioner ensures easy maintenance.

The loading area is separated from the spreading unit by a hydraulic feed control valve. In order to guarantee an optimal sealing, it has an internal frame guide. The opening position can be adjusted continuously on the control terminal. The driver conveniently receives information about the opening width of the gate valve via the fill level indicator on the front wall of the spreader. Right behind the feed control gate are two horizontal spreader rollers with a diameter of 770 millimeters each. These ensure optimal mixing, loosening and dosing of the spreading material. Easy maintenance is guaranteed by exchangeable blades. If something should spread inside, the system automatically switches off, thanks to electronic speed monitoring when roller speed is reduced.

Veenhuis Quad-shift

Veenhuis Machines has expanded its Premium tank range, suitable for extreme and/or wet conditions, with the Premium Quad-shift 15.85 liters, ideally suited for application of slurry fertilizers on grass and arable land.

Minimum soil pressure, maximum capacity

In early spring, a lot of manure has to be spread in a short period of time under all circumstances. Maximum capacity combined with a minimum soil pressure are of great importance. The concept of four equally large wheels turning independently next to each other is an excellent alternative to single-axle tankers with wide tires. The reduced wringing effect, especially in curves, and a larger contact surface are the major advantages of the quad principle.

The unique sliding construction of the Premium Quad-shift tanks makes it possible to extend the outer wheels by as much as 65 centimeters, so there is no longer any overlap with tractor wheels. Each wheel, therefore, has its own track and thus a better distribution of pressure on the ground. This construction also ensures that the tank has the maneuverability of compact single-axle tanks as well as sufficient carrying capacity. The four-wheel independent hydraulic pendulum construction ensures the pressure on each wheel (620/80 R42) is the same and thus that the pressure per square centimeter is as low as possible.

In transport position, this hydraulic suspension provides a transport mode which ensures that the tank is very stable and shows the same behavior as a normal single-axle tank but with extra driving comfort of the hydraulic suspension.

This is what every farmer wants: to put manure on the fields in a short period of time without damaging the soil structure and field roads. With the new Quad-shift from Veenhuis, this is achievable

Trusted Veenhuis technology

This quad concept was already developed and tested by Veenhuis as one of the first manufacturers in 2004, and based on positive market feedback on this quad concept, it has now been added to Veenhuis' broad manure portfolio.

Furthermore, this tank range has the specifications that characterize Premium tanks. For example, they are available in both a version with a rotary lobe pump, as well as in the well-known and unique Veenhuis vacuum/centrifugal version. They can also be equipped with a short suction arm or with a swiveling suction arm, on the right side of the tank. As standard, ISOBUS control, proportionally adjustable coulter pressure regulation from the cabin and automatic dosage control are part of the basic specifications of this machine.

Precision fertilization of Veenhuis

Of course, it is possible to work with the Veenhuis Premium Quad-shift tanks with a GPS system and automatic section control on the injector for grass and arable land. This prevents overlap of fertilization. In addition, the Nutriflow sensor can be applied so manure can be analyzed in real time and dosed to a nutrient to be determined in the manure.
