Activities began on Wednesday, December 2 with the first of what will probably become an ongoing series of hands-on alfalfa diagnostic workshops.

Because of the limited enrollment, attendees were able to closely interact with presenters on subjects ranging from soils and fertilizers, diseases, weed management and insect identification and integrated pest management.

The main conference opened Thursday, December 3rd with general sessions including information on industry market trends, improving profitability, pest management, soils and irrigation, bioenergy and alternative forages and future innovations.

Along with the in-depth seminars was the accompanying vendor trade show held adjoining the lecture areas. Growers were able to meet with company representatives to get the latest information on equipment, weed and pest management products and other industry-leading ideas to make 2010 an ideal growing year for everyone who attended.  FG
