Button, who also is director of the National Owner/Operator Independent Drivers Association, has years of experience both as a farmer and NHA transportation committee chairman, where he makes decisions regarding equipment, rates and routes, which adjusts constantly to market conditions and weather.

He hauls hay, agriculture products and produce from New York to Florida. He also coordinates the shipment of hay from the New York/New Jersey region to the Eastern Seaboard and inland to Tennessee and Texas.

Button has first-hand and multifaceted experience throughout the freight transportation system, and understands the economic impact of delays and the inefficiencies with the system. He recognizes the important link between economics and safety, and how policies at the national level impact truckers’ ability to move freight.

He has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the College of Agriculture Science and Natural Resources at the University of Tennessee.  FG
