Kuhn North America Inc. is pleased to introduce the GA 8830 semi-mounted twin-rotor rotary rake. This new addition helps round out the top end of Kuhn’s twin-rotor rotary rake lineup with a working width ranging between 25 feet 6 inches (7.8 meters) to 28 feet 7 inches (8.8 meters).

Intended for large operations and custom operators, the GA 8830 rake is simple, easy to use and extremely versatile. It is setup to adapt to an operator’s needs and conditions. The hydraulic rotor adjustment allows users to make one or two windrows, depending on crop conditions.

The GA 8830 rake offers proven reliability with the Masterdrive GIII double-reduction gearbox allowing it to easily power through heavy crops, tough field conditions and intensive use. Key components have been improved to build lighter yet stronger rotors, such as: aluminum alloy housings, optimized cam track minimizing force on the follower bearing, larger follower bearing diameter reducing rotation speed and pressure on the cam, tine arms with large-dimension bearings, sturdier pivoting tine support shaft, reinforced main shaft, and reinforced mounting of tine arms on tine holders.

The 3-D suspension of the rotors provides exceptional adaptation of the machine to the terrain. This allows for an impressive range of up-and-down movement of the suspension from +10 inches to -12 inches.

The GA 8830 also comes equipped with Kuhn’s exclusive, StabiDrive system. The pivot point between the tractor’s lower links and the rake is not vertical, but rather inclined slightly forward increasing the pressure on the inner link and inner wheel of the rake’s undercarriage. This results in the center of gravity being more in the center of the rake when turning, which increases stability, especially in hilly conditions.

New cab environment and data transfer capabilities for flagship tractors creates new Case IH Quadtrac and Steiger AFS Connect series

Case IH is introducing new Quadtrac and Steiger AFS Connect series tractors for the 2021 season with specific features for the European market and incorporating new technology designed to ease the data recording and transfer requirements central to modern large-scale farming. They also benefit from similar cab comfort and control upgrades to those introduced initially on the Magnum AFS Connect series launched in 2019.

Quadtrac AFS Connect tracked tractors (eight models from 525-692 max HP) and Steiger AFS Connect wheeled versions (six models from 469-558 max HP) gain new features and enhancements including:

  • AFS Connect factory-fitted enhanced connectivity as standard
  • AFS Pro 1200 display
  • AFS Vision Pro operating system
  • AFS Vector Pro receiver
  • New Case IH Multicontroller armrest
  • New cab interior with enhanced automotive-grade materials and styling

John Deere adds a new 5-meter model to the lineup and updates other Zero Series Mower Conditioners

John Deere has updated and added to its mower conditioner (MoCo) lineup for model year 2021. Zero Series MoCos help commercial and non-commercial hay producers manage tight harvest windows by getting more crop cut and ready to bale.

Notable changes include the addition of the new John Deere C500, a 5-meter, center-pivot MoCo; the redesigned John Deere C400, a 4-meter, center-pivot MoCo; and quick-change knives, all backed by an industry-leading, 5-year cutterbar warranty. Eight models are available, ranging in cutting widths from 2.5 meters to 5 meters.

Zero Series MoCos can now be ordered, replacing all 600, 800 and 900 Series models. Models available include the side-pull S250, S300 and S350 machines; and center-pivot C300, C350, C400, C450 and C500 MoCos.

A new naming and numbering system helps customers differentiate between center-pivot and side-pull machines, cut width and series. For example, on the C500, “C” identifies it as a center-pivot MoCo, and “S,” like on the S300, shows it’s a side-pull MoCo. The next two digits represent approximate cut width in meter: 5.0 meters for the C500 or 3.0 meters for the S300. The last digit “0” identifies the MoCo series.

All Zero Series MoCos include an extended 5-year cutterbar warranty that covers parts and labor to help keep the cost of operation low. For more information, visit your local John Deere dealer or JohnDeere.com.

Haybuster launches H-1135, 11-foot tub grinder upgrade

Nearly a decade ago, Haybuster, a subsidiary of Dura Tech Industries International, unveiled its H-1130 Haybuster tub grinder. This 11-foot tub grinder quickly became an industry staple in the hay and corn grinding market. After years of success, Haybuster incorporated many upgrades based on customer feedback and new technology. It continues to provide what customers like and delivers what today's customers want.

Improved features and benefits:

  • The all-new belt drive features a simpler, low-maintenance drive that can handle the big horsepower.
  • Super single tires and rims allow more machine weight capacity with higher transport speed.
  • Electronic governor controls eliminate manual valves and offers a smooth, more reactive tub feed control. The governor also helps with maintenance schedules by monitoring both grind hours and total job hours.
  • Remote control allows users to operate the H-1135 from the comfort of the tractor, including tub stop, direction and conveyor up and down.

Carryovers from the H-1130, the popular predecessor:

  • A single-orbit motor tub drive grinds smoothly and consistently.
  • The 90-degree hydraulic tilting tub provides operator easier access for maintenance and service.
  • The 50-inch rear-mounted hammermill with forged hammers in the mill improve productivity and durability.
  • A 26-foot long hydraulic folding conveyor provides maneuverability with the ability to produce more substantial piles and for loading trucks.
  • Dual discharge augers provide smooth transition of materials to the conveyor.
  • A large variety of optional screen sizes produce any size cut a customer may want.
  • Two PTO options (1-3/8 inches and 1-3/4 inches 1000 RPM) to match your tractor requirements.  end mark
