Poll: Agronomy factors drive most decisions to plant alfalfa/grass mixed stand

Most Progressive Forage Grower online readers decide to plant an alfalfa/grass mixed stand based on agronomy factors, according to a recent poll.

Progressive Forage Grower recently asked, “What drives your decision to plant an alfalfa/grass mixed stand?”

The majority, (40 percent) said that their decision depended on agronomy factors, or what worked best in their soil.

Market demand was the next most-considered factor. Twenty-four percent of online readers said that market demand drove their decision.

Nutritional needs and yield both tied at 18 percent as the possible driving factor in readers’ decisions to plant an alfalfa/grass mixed stand.  FG
