The event was hosted by the Jackson Agricultural Research Station in Jackson, Ohio, a branch research location of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC).

A joint venture between the OARDC and OSU extension, the educational workshop was targeted at cattle producers and forage growers from the region. The 55 attendees represented thirteen counties in Ohio and West Virginia. 

Participants were provided a delicious ribeye steak sandwich meal before the program and received a forage field reference handbook. 

Program topics included:

  • Beef Industry Advocacy
  • Pasture Weed Control Strategies
  • Feeding Processed Hay to Beef Cows
  • Drought Pasture Management Considerations

Speakers for the program represented OARDC, OSU Extension, and the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. Sponsors were Anderson Group, Cargill Nutrition, Trupointe Cooperative, Jackson Ag Service, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and the Jackson County Cattlemen’s Association.
