The fully operational site in Edgar County will provide Beck’s with seed processing capabilities, additional warehousing and expanded bulk storage.
“Located within an hour of our Effingham, Illinois, facility, this new facility will allow Beck’s to maximize efficiency, stay ahead of demand and deliver products faster,” said Scott Beck, president of Beck’s.
The facility features a recently remodeled tower, 400,000 units of drying capacity, 300,000 units of bulk storage capacity and 71,000 square feet of warehousing. In the first year of operation, the facility will be utilized for warehousing, seed storage and bulk management. No seed corn production, drying or processing is planned for 2016.
In addition to Effingham and Paris, Beck’s has five other permanent locations in Illinois, including production, processing and distribution facilities in Allerton, El Paso, Neoga, and Pontiac, as well as a Practical Farm Research (PFR) site in Downs.
